The tyre needs to come off
A tyre driven with low pressure can develop internal abrasion or cord damage invisible from outside. An internal inspection is required before repair.
Damage that commonly prevents repair
- Puncture in the shoulder or sidewall
- Cut, bulge, exposed cord or bead damage
- Evidence the tyre was driven flat
- Unsafe tread or serious ageing
- Large puncture or conflict with an existing repair
A proper repair
Where permitted, the puncture path and inner liner are treated as one repair system. Sealant or an external string alone is not equivalent to a permanent standards-based repair.
